It is official. Mojang posted on their own website that, "Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft." This is probably great news for Microsoft as purchasing a giant such as Minecraft is bound to make them a lot more than they spent. One thing Microsoft isn't getting, however, is the brilliant mind of Minecraft creator, Notch.

Deep Silver have today announced the release date for their upcoming "third-person single-player survival mystery spin-off" Escape Dead Island. Although announced only quite recently, fans can expect to get their hands on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC title sooner than expected.

Obsidian have posted an advertisement looking for an experienced character designer for an MMORPG they're working on. Although the job description doesn't give much in the way of information, it does say that the art design is "highly stylized," so expect something a little unusual.
