Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (Nintendo Switch) Impressions

I've been a fan of point-and-click adventure games for as long as I can remember, playing through most of the Tales of Monkey Island series, as well as the best point-and-click adventure series ever released, King's Quest. I enjoy the exploration and narrative elements of these titles, and really enjoy the problem and puzzle solving. While King's Quest was never difficult for me, playing through Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark made me not only feel stupid, but inadequate as a adventure game player. And I loved it!

New Pokemon Snap Review

Personally, as a gamer, I’ve had a semi love/hate relationship with Pokémon over the years. I was an early adopter to the series having Pokémon Blue when it came out and did really enjoy the game. But we haven’t really had anything quite like that until then. Obviously, since then it has blown up to a worldwide phenomenon with people camped out for cards, buying games left and right, storming Build-A-Bear to get plushies…its been a crazy ride. I’ve gone…

Turtle Power: TMNT Nostalgia and Shredder’s Revenge

When I was a kid I collected Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys and comics. I watched the cartoon and the movies. I even got to see the Turtles musical live! Of course I played the video games too. Yes I was a TMNT fan. Actually I still am. And so the announcement of Shredder’s Revenge made me very happy. Its time to get nostalgic and also look ahead to the new game! My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandom can be…

Welcome to Paradise: A Look At Castaway Paradise for Nintendo Switch

A storm hits and your boat is destroyed. You wash up on a shore and finish yourself surrounded by animals. Welcome to Castaway Paradise for the Nintendo Switch! The game is out today. Here are my early impressions of it. Castaway Paradise takes place on an island full of animals. Sound familiar? It might but this game is only slightly like Animal Crossing. It actually shares more in common with Harvest Moon. Just like Harvest Moon: you grow crops, build…

Miitopia Demo First Impressions

Miitopia started life as a Mii-focused rpg on the 3DS. And now is coming to the Nintendo Switch! Today, Nintendo announced and released a demo for the Switch version. I have played the demo some and here are my first impressions of it. On the 3DS, I was a huge fan of Tomodachi Life. However, I just thought Miitopia was okay. I never really got into it a lot. So I admit when it was announced that the game was…

Console Demo and Preorder Information for King of Seas

The latest pirate action RPG is about to grace PC and home consoles, but the folks at 3D Clouds decided that perhaps a demo was in the best interest of the people. As someone on the fence about this title from day one - as we have been promised amazing pirate adventures before that have not always panned out - I'm really looking forward to checking out the demo ahead of the May 25th release date!

Pokemania set to take over yet again, Pokemon Snap is coming

With just a few more days until Pokemon Snap officially launches for the Nintendo Switch, and I for one am very excited. The original Pokemon Snap was one of my most played games on the N64, it was just at the right time, a relaxing game with tons of replay value. Keep in mind due to system limitations the game really hasn't aged well as most games of that era didn't. But my wife (girlfriend) at the time and I spent countless hours perfecting our craft. Yes, we did even take our save data to blockbuster and printed the stickers they used to do.

The first major DLC bundle for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is coming out next week, and as a huge fan of this title, I couldn't be more excited. Although not a ton of new stuff will be added - we have to wait until May to get the first big DLC pack - there still is some fun to be had to extend your Story of Seasons experience.
