I've written numerous times in the past that Bayonetta was not a franchise that I really enjoyed playing. That sentiment has changed with the launch of Bayonetta 3, and while I enjoyed my time with that title, it still wasn't one of my favourite experiences on Nintendo consoles. When Bayonetta Origins was announced during a previous Nintendo Direct, I was instantly intigued. The art looked good, the concepts seems interesting, and I wanted to know more about this witch named Cereza.

In the past I was never what you would consider a fan of rogue-like games. Dead Cells came and went without me really even acknowledging it’s existence. Up until 2020 when a friend of mine could stop singing the praises of Hades, which took the gaming world by storm that year, and still to date is one of the best “indie” games I have ever played. One thing you really need to know about me is that I absolutely love Tales of Symphonia. It might be my favourite JRPG of all time, and definitely is my favourite Tales of game from Bandai Namco. Being able to play it again on modern consoles (Switch, PlayStation and Xbox) is unbelievable, but it all comes with one big caveat - the game doesn't run all that well on Nintendo Switch, which is wildly disappointing. Still, despite the flaws, Tales of Symphonia on Switch is a must own in my opinion. The portability alone makes it a fantastic way to play!

Kirby was never a Nintendo franchise I had much interest in. That sort of changed with the launch of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, a more 3D take on the traditional 2D Kirby experience.
