The Legend of Zelda 35th Anniversary Coming Up Soon

February 21st is not that far away, but it will mark the 35th anniversary of one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. When Mario hit the same milestone, fans were treated to new games - notably the All-star collection with Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy - tons of incredible merchandise from Puma, LEVI's, and more, and of course, exclusive items that could be earned by beating challenges, or purchased in the Nintendo store. It was an incredible year celebrating Mario, and here is hoping Zelda is just as big. So without further ado, ...

SXFI GAMER Headset From Creative Shreds the Competition

A couple of years ago, Creative launched its Super X-Fi line of audio accessories that took the world by storm. Their superior audio quality and surround sound experience left us absolutely speechless. Last year, they released SXFI Gen2, which was an improved and expanded version that incorporated high accuracy in personalized profiles, more configuration options, better audio positioning and more. All of these features have been packed into the SXFI GAMER headset, which offers the same incredible audio experience paired with a professional-grade microphone ...

Master Your Adventure Maker Set a Good LEGO Buy

If you gave - or received - the Super Mario LEGO starter kit over the holidays, you are probably overwhelmed by the number of additional LEGO set packs you can purchase to supplement what you get with the starter kit. We've purchased and received for a review most of wave one, and really enjoyed what we got. As wave two launches, it's become quite obvious that after the starter kit, purchasing the Master Your Adventure Maker Set is easily the next thing you should buy, unless you are buying purely for displaying.

Tapestry: Plans and Ploys Review

Tapestry was one of my favourite games to play in 2020, thanks to it's deep civilization building mechanics and outstanding game pieces. None of this should come as a shock, however, as Stonemaeir games is easily one of my favourite developers and publishers, and they almost always knock it out of the park. Recently, the company released the first major expansion for Tapestry titled, Plans and Ploys, and we are about to tell you what we think! Let's dive in!

Xbox Series X Tech feat

Xbox Series X – Three Weeks Later

It was just before the holiday that Xbox Canada was able to send over an Xbox Series X for us to try out, review, and use for Xbox content going forward. And we did a ton of early impressions, and a complete review as well. News flash - all of our staff currently playing on Xbox Series X are loving the experience the console provides, and although it lacks brand new, built from the ground up on Xbox Series X games, what we do have is pretty impressive.

L.O.L. Surprise! Remix a Smart Cash Grab

The L.O.L. Surprise line-up of toys has been shockingly popular in North America as of late, but if silly toys from Ryan's World can take off an be popular hits, why can't these? And to that end, capitalizing on the toy franchise just wasn't enough, as the world of L.O.L. Surprise made its way into the video game space with L.O.L. Surprise! Remix. While an obvious cash grab, it's one that works surprisingly well, and while it will have a very niche audience, at least it's a decent experience as opposed to shovel ware crap.

Pendulum Review + How to Play from “Watch It Played”

Stonemaier games has quickly become one of my favourite board game publishing companies because of a few key factors. First, their titles are generally really, really good. They scale well for the minimum to maximum players, the components included are fantastic, and the strategy is easy to understand, but incredibly deep. When the opportunity to review Pendulum came up, I couldn't wait for yet another amazing Stonemaier experience, and for the most part, I wasn't disappointed.

How do you make old games even more of a good time? Well, for me, you add achievements. Call me a sucker, but those digital trophies are like crack. I get they’re not for everybody. Neither is chocolate or music. I don’t get it, but…
