If Harvest Moon loses in March, is this the End of the Franchise?

Saying a game is going to 'lose' might seem a bit much, but I truly don't believe that is the case for Harvest Moon: One World which is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on March 2, 2021. With Story of Seasons launching just 3 weeks later, this might be the last chance Harvest Moon has to recapture the former farming simulator glory and reestablish itself as one of the best franchises in the genre.

The Simplicity of Asmodee’s Spot It! Matching Game

Asmodee is known the world over for all the board and card game it publishes, and I'm constantly astonished at the range of games the company has in it's portfolio. Over the holidays, we reviewed many of these titles, and are continuing trough a few other now. Last night, it was all about the kid friendly game, Spot It! where players do their best to find the matching symbols between cards, collecting the cards and ultimately winning the game.

Asterix & Obelix XXL3: The Crystal Menhir Review

If you've never played an Asterix & Obelix game in the past, you've no doubt heard about them. When you think about long running video game franchises you might think of The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and the like. Dozens of games spread across multiple generations of hardware. Some wildly successful, others completely mediocre. What if I told you Asterix and Obelix deserves to be in that conversation, as one of video games longest running franchises. It does, and the latest release, The Crystal Menhir takes everything the series has been working on for ...

LEGO Super Mario – Master Your Adventure Maker Set Review

If you've been following our LEGO Super Mario coverage on the site, or have been following me on Twitter over the past few years, you know that when the LEGO Super Mario collection was announced initially, I was incredibly skeptical and a bit vocal on social media about how I thought this LEGO line missed the mark completely with both LEGO and Nintendo fans. You might also remember me eating my words when I received my initial LEGO Group review drop with a few sets from Wave 1, including the starter kit. Now that we are onto Wave 2, I'm completely sold on the ...

Sega – It’s Time For a Buyout

For a company most famous for its speedy mascot, Sega has been pretty backward about coming forward. Let’s face it, the glory days of Sega are far, far behind them. Gone are the genre-leading Dreamcast and Megadrive days. Instead, we’re left with a company not really pushing to its limit. Revivals of old IP – even the brilliant Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4 – are experiments outside of the main teams that develop these games. Besides that, we’re…

Life of Fly Impressions (Xbox Series)

Life of Fly features 12 short stories each revolving around the life and weird thoughts of another fly. Be prepared to experience some very unusual content, some interesting thoughts that go way beyond the normal life of a fly, and some entertaining short stories with a twist. Just the description of the game alone sounded weird enough to interest me. In this game as mentioned above, you take on the role of one of twelve different flies and take each…

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Not Just a Nintendo Cash Grab

A lot of folks are calling Nintendo's re-release of old games on the Nintendo Switch a cash grab, and while I understand the thought process, I disagree with the argument. While I'll be the first to admit that Nintendo does somehow trick us into buying old games again and again and again, the process by which they are re-launching Wii U titles on the Nintendo Switch doesn't fall into this category, and for one specific reason - sales numbers.
