I've been playing a ton of Stardew Valley lately on the Xbox One, and I'm beginning to suffer from what I like to call, Just One More Day Syndrome. When you explain a farming simulator game to a friend who might not be that into video games, you probably sound like an idiot? You build and take care of a farm? You have nothing better to do? And yet, it is so addicting, in the best possible way.

If it wasn't the case a few years ago, it is very evident now: entertainment consoles from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are taking over living rooms around the world, and are providing more than just video games.

I think I need to blast this PSA: If you are playing Stardew Valley, don't let your energy bar fall to 0. You will severely regret doing that. The extra log you might chop, or the extra stone you might destroy, just isn't worth what will happen after becoming exhausted. Let me explain.

If you haven't played ARK, I strongly recommend you do. Yes, there are a number technical issues and graphical problems, but for a game as expansive as ARK, these can be easily overlooked. ARK is just plain fun, whether you are playing with friends or alone, whether in PvP or PvE. I have what I assume a typical life for a married father of two young boys. My dad is 8 hours of work, dinner, playing with the boys before bed, bed time rituals, spending time with my wife, followed by an hour or so of some late night video games.
