While 2020 begins a brand new decade, it also ushers in a new philosophy at Google when it comes to their lineup of Pixel phones. While rumored for most of the year, Google did in fact launch a Google Pixel 5, but did not include an XL model as in previous years. Google also opted to aim for a brand new price point with the Pixel 5, one that detangles them from the high end market and places them more appropriately in that mid-tier level. But with a number of downgrades to the device over the Google Pixel 4 XL, is there a reason to upgrade to the Pixel 5? 

The Alcatel 1B aims to provide the essential smartphone experience at a fraction of the cost. It runs Android 10 Go edition, which is intended to use less RAM than the full operating system - a key requirement when budgeting a smartphone device at $100. While nobody should expect top-tier performance from a budget device, there must conversely exist enough function on these more affordable devices for them to provide any value whatsoever. Beginning today, Google Stadia is offering numerous demos for folks to enjoy free of charge. We have been working through our review of the Google Pixel 4a, and have basically come to the conclusion that it is the best, mid-market cell phone currently available to purchase. From stellar battery life to a fantastic camera, the phone does basically everything you'd want, without the unnecessary processing power and high price tag.
