In my preview for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser's Jr's Journey I mentioned that I had never played Bowser's Inside Story before. So when it came time to do my review, I decided to not compare the game to the original. In fact, I decided to not compare the game to previous Mario & Luigi games at all. Released last December by developer The Bearded Ladies Consulting and publisher Funcom, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a turn-based tactical RPG that utilizes elements of real-time stealth and an intriguing storyline to bring an experience that can only be described as a next-level XCOM. I played and enjoyed the demo of Valkyria Chronicles 4 on the Nintendo Switch. I didn’t have the money to get the full game though.But then Valkyria Chronicles 1 came to the Switch. Released late last month, The Colonists is a casual city builder from the one-man, UK-based indie developer Codebyfire. Inspired by classic games such as The Settlers and the Anno series, The Colonists adds some welcome twists and innovation to a genre that at times can fall into a very repetitive pattern.

Despite the small screen size and clutter user interface, playing Civilization 6 on the iPhone was still a fantastic experience, which is forcing me to backtrack comments I made via twitter about the game. We all know how fantastic the Civilization franchise is, and it's been a staple on the PC for over a decade. Now with the franchise available on iPhone and iPad, consoles, and the PC, there literally is no excuse for anyone to not give the game a try.
