Today, the LEGO Group and Asmodee announced their first jointly-crafted board game, Monkey Palace. The game will be officially unveiled to retailers and industry partners at the Nuremberg Toy Fair and will be available for purchase from October 3 at Spiel Essen, the world’s largest board game convention, and from select leading retailers around the world.

Mythwind Unboxing and Components Review
Mythwind is doing something brand new in board gaming – many folks have asked me to recommend a game like Mythwind so they can get an idea of what to expect. Honestly, I’m not sure I can, because in the board game space, Mythwind stands on its own! The best comparison I can give you is that this is something like a Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons, or perhaps a Stardew Valley. It’s relaxing. It’s cozy. There is no…

Attack on Titan is a very popular franchise, so it made sense that Attack on Titan: The Last Stand was released in 2017 and did very well! The publisher has recently released a second edition of the game, and it has all the same fun as the original with some notable upgrades! Let’s take a look at Attack on Titan: The Last Stand, published by Japanime Games! Attack on Titan, once on the table, is a very impressive game. The…

In about 50 days, one of the more unique game I’ve ever seen is going to hit GameFound, and this title is Meeple Inc. In Meeple Inc., players will be creating their own board games, hiring help, and attempting to win prestigious awards in order to be the best board game developer at the table. To be fair, it’s a bit more complicated than that (in a good, board game kind of way), so why not check out this summary…

Asmodee Canada and Fantasy Flight Games sent over a copy of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game prior to the holiday break, and my father-in-law and I quickly played through all the scenarios in the box using the pre-established decks suggested in the Learn to Play guide.

Read MoreWant to be a World Traveler with Friends? A Cooperative Board Game Coming Soon
Party games are wildly popular in the board game space. In fact, even if you aren't a huge board game fan, I'm sure you've heard of games like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity. So many cooperative games utilize easy to understand mechanics with fun and (often) a take-that sort of mechanic. You are all competing for points, and the most points wins. Cooperative party games are a bit less common, but a new one is about to hit the scene soon titled World Traveler.

I’ve been playing Wingspan for a few years now and have always enjoyed the games I’ve played. Recently, a brand new game with a similar feel arrived at the office for review, and my ultimate decision was that in my opinion, the Robots of the new game trumped the birds of Wingspan. So Raising Robot sits near the top of my favorite games list. But now we have something new from Stonemaier Games, Wyrmspan, a Wingspan-esque game but this time…
Read MoreCats in Space? MLEM Board Game Review
For the longest time, my family (mostly for my kids) were obsessed with Celestia, a game where players hopped on a hot air balloon and traveled from location to location attempting to earn points. Cards were played to move, and at some point people either decided to get off the balloon or crashed with it and earned no points. MLEM is doing a similar thing, but with cats in space. Does it do enough different stuff to replace a family…
Read MoreCoffee Rush Great at 3 or 4 Players, Not at 2
Coffee Rush was one of my most anticipated games – I originally saw it demoed at an event sponsored by Asmodee Canada and Lion Rampant Imports last year, and was instantly mesmerized by the interesting looking gameplay, but mostly the fantastic production of the game. Fantastic components only gets you so far, though, so let’s take a look at the game itself and whether it deserves a spot on your shelf! Coffee Rush can be played at 2-4 players, and…
