Agricola 15th Anniversary Big Box – Tale of Two Boxes

One of the very first ‘real’ board games I ever played (and purchased) after Catan was Agricola. I was mesmerized by the pieces, the cards, the boards, and more. It looked like a really great game, and as someone infatuated with farming video games, I thought a farming board game would be a lot of fun. Recently, Asmodee and Lookout Games launched a 15th Anniversary edition of the game in a big box - does it hit like it should? Let’s take a look.

Journey’s In Middle Earth Bones of Arnor Impressions

Over the past few weeks, my father-in-law and I have been sitting down over lunch breaks to play Lord of the Rings: Journey’s in Middle Earth. Descent: Legends of the Dark Getting a Massive (literally) Expansion

If you’ve been following along to my Twitter account or read some of the articles online, I took a deep dive into Lord of the Rings: Journey in Middle Earth. This modular board game from Fantasy Flight Games mesmerized me instantly. When I say I took a deep dive, I mean a legitimate deep dive. I bought the base game, the large expansions, and the three additional character packs. It all ran me about $350+ dollars but it has been incredibly worth it. Between a few ongoing campaigns, I’ve spent about 25 hours with the game so far, and have tons more to explore. ...

Scythe Board Game Review

There are a few really popular board games available on the market, and it feels unfair that Stonemaier Games has a few of these. Two incredibly popular and in high demand games are Wingspan  and Scythe. Not only is it easy to learn and teach, but it is accessible, and each game almost always feels different than the last. This week,…
