A few months ago, I chose to back Summer in Mara on the Nintendo Switch, via Indigogo in Canada. The game promised a farming simulation experience that weaved in quests, story, and more. As a huge fan of Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, I was excited to give this game a shot. While I wouldn't really use those two games to compare to this, I would use on other title - Rune Factory. My excitement for Marvel’s Spider-man: Miles Morales isn’t as high as it was yesterday. Why is that? Well, it turns out that Miles Morales is not a full game. Back on June 14th 2013, The original The Last of Us game came out and changed what video games could be forever. With groundbreaking graphics, writing better than many blockbuster movies released today, outstanding acting, outstanding sound design...it goes on and on. From my very first time playing it I was hooked, and it quickly landed in my top 3 games of all time despite it's gut wrenching opening that literally made me shed tears. It was the last hoorah for the PlayStation 3. Flash forward to today, and we must ask if The Last of Us Part II repeat history? 

Volcanoids is an early access co-op survival shooter and base builder from similarly named indie developer, Volcanoid. In a genre that is chock full of popular titles and where competition is fierce, it is not easy for an indie developer to break in, especially with such an ambitious project.
