This exciting collaboration will bring together the iconic LEGO System in Play with Asmodee’s expertise in board game development, resulting in a new range of high-quality games for families and LEGO fans of all ages.
To spearhead this partnership, a new studio called Dotted Games has been established. Based in Denmark, Dotted Games will focus on developing engaging and creative LEGO board games that leverage the versatility of LEGO bricks. The team at Dotted Games brings a wealth of experience in the board game industry and is committed to delivering exceptional play experiences.
“We are thrilled to partner with Asmodee to explore the endless possibilities of combining LEGO bricks and board games,” said Jaume Fabregat, Board Games Lead, LEGO Publishing. “By combining our strengths, we can create truly unique and engaging games that will delight fans around the world.”
“Asmodee is excited to collaborate with the LEGO Group to bring new and exciting board games to life,” said Thomas Kœgler, Asmodee Deputy COO. “This partnership allows us to combine our passion for games with the iconic LEGO brand to create unforgettable experiences for families and friends.”
Monkey Palace is the first game to be released as part of the partnership. This jungle-themed game combines strategy and building as players compete to rebuild the Monkey Palace. With no single path to victory, Monkey Palace offers endless replayability and fun for all ages. The game will be available globally starting October 3, 2024, following its debut at Essen Spiel.
Dotted Games is also developing Brick Like This!, a family party game focused on teamwork, communication, and building with LEGO bricks. This game is designed for 2-8 players aged 7 and up and offers simple rules for easy enjoyment.
This is just the beginning of the LEGO Group and Asmodee partnership. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements and game releases in the coming months.
