Microsoft have had a lot of frank feedback over the last few weeks, and it seems they've decided to act on it. They've announced this evening that they're ditching almost everything that was previously announced for the Xbox One, good and bad. While the 24 hour check in and trade limitations are no longer going to be a part of the system, they're also getting rid of the family sharing, digital selling and trading.

Sony have announced the content that will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in July. It's a great mix of some top games, things that are definitely going to help you prepare for a few big upcoming titles. Although you'll need to enjoy shooters to really get the most out of this month, the inclusion of Battlefield 3, Payday: The Heist and Saints Row the Third is sure to be enough to justify this month's pay. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is largely a game about leaving an impression. Whether you're creating your town in the sometimes dull single player or if you're visiting friends to see how they've built up their world, you can do so with a personality and charm that you yourself have created. Shelter is a zombie-themed card game for mobile devices. The Last of Us has had a great first weekend, proving beyond a doubt that Sony's latest has at least hit home with its biggest fans. Although no specific sales data has been released, it did make it to the top of the all-format charts (knocking GRID 2 from its high point) and is thought to be the highest grossing new IP since L.A. Noire, which released in 2011. It's also the first Sony published game to reach the top spot since Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Nintendo has been pushing New Super Luigi U in several of their Nintendo Directs and with good reason. Although it's more akin to a new game than a piece of DLC, they've basically done what people have been asking for since DLC became a thing: they're building an expansion where they could have simply added an extra character or a few new levels. Mad Max, from Avalanche Studios, promises to bring back a hugely popular franchise, a franchise that is decidedly Australian. Why then was the voice of the titular character done by an American? Although there's a million reasons that might be, Mad Max fans aren't impressed and have launched a petition in the hopes of changing the decision before it's too late.

Streaming games is going to become the norm in 2014 and a big part of that will be thanks to Gaikai and Sony. If you're not willing to pay, though, don't expect a full gaming experience.
