To say that Nintendo has released more of something is nothing new. More Mario Kart, more Yoshi's Island, and now more Kirby. I use these three specific examples for a reason. More Mario Kart has always been a good thing, while more Yoshi's Island wasn't. Another game in the Kirby franchise is not like another Mario Kart game, but is leaps and bounds ahead of Yoshi's Island.

Nintendo has a knack for surprising fans with interesting videos, promotions, and games. It happened again today. As I ate my pre-work breakfast and scrolled through Twitter, I noticed Nintendo had posted a Mario Kart 8 Nintendo Direct. Not a time for a direct, but a direct itself. And it was fantastic. If you were not excited about the game yet, prepare to be sold.

The days of three big companies spending thousands of dollars on three huge press conferences appears to be over. Nintendo's experiment with hosting a Nintendo Direct instead of a press conference last year must have worked, as the company has again opted out of holding a press conference in 2014. Instead, Nintendo has announced a number of other events that will happen during E3.

If you've never played a third person RPG such as Diablo or Sacred, then perhaps Holy Avatar vs Maidens of the Dead is the game you ought to pick up. It's simple enough to grasp within a few minutes, but complicated enough to provide hours of fun. Don’t go in expecting a serious story with gripping plot changes. Instead, be ready to observe a very intelligent parody of what a traditional RPG really is.

RollerCoaster Tycoon for IOS has finally launched, and weeks of anticipation was destroyed by a horrendous pricing plan. While the game play is still reminiscent of the original tycoon classic, the unfortunate micro transactions makes it incredibly hard to have this game take up valuable space on the iPad.

So how can so little come out of a 11 minute Nintendo Direct? If you find life simulators incredibly dis-interesting, take the 11 minute plunge anyways. The witty banter throughout the Nintendo Direct make the time you spent watching well worth it. The entire 11 minutes is very comical. Want to see a Iwata playing with a cat or trying on a Dinosaur suit? Want to see a number of Nintendo executives attempt to pick up Samus Aran on a beach? Of course you do!
