Cake Laboratory
Cake Laboratory for Nintendo Switch is all about decorating cakes and then stacking them. Of course, one false move and the tower will come falling down. Is Cake Laboratory something you’ll want to play or is just another cheap mobile game that was ported to the Nintendo Switch?
Cake Laboratory is a very simple, yet addictive puzzle game. The goal of the game is to see how high you can stack cakes. With each level, the stack of cakes gets higher and higher. There are a lot of levels in this game.
As you progress in the game, you will unlock new plates that allow you to add more custom cakes to your stacks. And the custom cakes feature is pretty neat. You choose which cake you want and then put toppings on it. I like this feature. Its nice to add a bit of a unique look to each stack.
Control wise, Cake Laboratory has analog and button controls and it has touch screen controls. I prefered the analog/buttons but touch screen stacking does work well. Decorating the cakes with the touch screen, however, isn’t as accurate and I found myself having to double tap my selection to get it placed. The analog controls seem to be the best way to play this game.
Meanwhile, the game’s graphics are good. They won’t blow you away, but the game is colorful and cute.
Overall, Cake Laboratory is a good time killer. In small doses, its a fun addictive game. I enjoyed my time with it.
Cake Laboratory gets a 7.5 out of 10.
