Bam Box – December 2016

It’s that amazing time of the month, when I get to yell BAM! every time I grab an item out of the box. I generally only do this when I really like the item, and thankfully, I was yelling BAM! a lot! Let’s see what this months box had to offer. All pictures used here are from Hello Subscription! Check them out for what feels like hundreds of subscription box reviews every month!

The Bam Box has always had great, licenced pins, and this was the case again. There were 4 pins you might have received in your box, but we received the Captain America “Hey Girl” pin, which we love. All of the pins are highly detailed and in full colour, which is no the norm with subscription box pins. I really like that Bam Box has managed coordinate with these great companies to get these awesome licenced products!

We received two comic books this month, one of which I’m really excited about, and one that I’m less so excited about. I feel like I only want to talk about the Darth Vader comic book. As much as I want to open it, this limited edition, black and white cover, is so incredibly tempting. With only a few thousand of these in print, having an exclusive Star Wars item in my nerd collection is somewhat of a bragging point for myself. I might try to find another copy of this comic somewhere out in the wild – may be digitally – because the cover intrigues me!

My next favorite item in this months box was the letter openers. Every box came packed with two openers, either the small daggers (pictured above) or two longer swords. Although I think all 4 openers were fantastic, the swords would have been pretty neat to receive. Regardless, I’m happy with the dagger openers we got, and I will definitely put those to good use!

All of the items in this months box are pictured above, but I’ve been highlighting my favorites. We generally get a lot of prints from the Bam Box crew, and while many get filed away to be handed out as gifts, or to someday frame, a few are instantly framed and put up on the wall. That happened this month, with the samurai print – limited to 500 – that I got this month. The print is from famous artist Brian Reedy, who did a great job mashing up Bobba Fett and a samurai. This print is FANTASTIC and proudly up in my gaming room!

Conclusion

This was a great box. With the items we mentioned above – and that we lovedĀ – the box also included a print of actress Sarah Grey portraying Stargirl. We also got Red Sonja #0 signed by the writer, Amy Chu. None of that matters to me, but might to you. For my part, I thought the items reviewed above made this months Bam Box more than worth it.

January’s box will be the Anniversary Box for The Bam Box, and although we have not been with them from the beginning, we are really excited to see what they have in store for us. The company is promising to bring back some of our favorite artistsĀ from the past. It should be a great box!

As always, be sure to head over to The Bam Box’s Community Page where you can trade items with other subscribers! Until next time, we hope you have a great Holiday season!
