Wireless Controller Solution Announced For the NES Classic Edition
One of the complaints about the NES Classic Edition, even before it came out, was that the controller cord looked too small. Why couldn’t Nintendo just make the controller cordless? Well, Nintendo didn’t do that, but a third party developer will be releasing a wireless NES Classic controller soon!
A company called 8bitdo will be releasing a wireless NES Classic controller called the NES30 Classic Edition Set on December 16th. Here is how the controller is described at Amazon:
” Play your NES Classic Edition wirelessly
- Compatible with all 8Bitdo controllers and arcade sticks
- Compatible with next gen controllers: PS4, PS3, Wii Mote, and Wii U Pro
- Wireless Bluetooth, no lag
- Access the NES Classic Edition home screen by pressing DOWN & Select on the NES30 controller
Free yourself from the NES Classic Edition’s short controller cable. The Retro Receiver is a Bluetooth receiver that you plug into your NES Classic Edition. It allows you to play your NES Classic Edition wirelessly. With the Retro Receiver, not only can you play your NES Classic Edition wirelessly with any 8Bitdo controller or arcade stick: but you can even use wireless next gen controllers, too. ”
You can preorder the controller here!
I think this sounds like a great idea, however the $39 price tag is a bit steep! The controller is almost as high as the system. Still, this controller will probably be worth it for those who will use the NES Classic Edition a lot.
What do you think of this controller? Will you be buying it?
