Financial Hardships Make Xbox Series X a Great Console Choice
2020 has been a really tough year for many folks, and while video game consoles might not be the highest priority on everyone’s list if they are experiencing financial hardships, some folks do have just enough saved up and lying around to not only survive this pandemic, but also get in on the latest and great tech.
I’ve said in the past that when you compare the Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S and the PlayStation 5, the latter feels much more like a next generation console. It has a new look, a new controller, new accessories, and tons of brand new games, a few of which are only available on the PlayStation 5 (such as Astro’s Playroom). While your Dual Shock controller will work with PS4 games on the PS5, it won’t work on PS5 games. One comes packed in, but if you have more folks at home, you’ll need to get more, especially if you want to play Sackboy’s Adventure!
Xbox has gone a slightly different route for this generation launch. We got a new UI a few weeks ago, that will be working on both Xbox One and Xbox Series. While a new controller does come packed with the new consoles, all your old Xbox controllers will continue to work. And Xbox is also delivering 100s of games via Xbox Game Pass (which now includes EA titles), and has a ton of games ready to go that might be in your back catalogue already, including hits like Forza Horizon 4 which looks absolutely stunning in 4K!
Xbox has made a strong push towards being as accessible as ever, and really does care more about selling your services as opposed to selling you consoles. And hte services they are providing are perfect in 2020, as a pandemic rages on, and as funds are not as easily accessible for folks as they might have once been.
Kudos to you Microsoft. It’s a great decision.
