Top 3 AC Valhalla Details That Complete Your Immersion
If you have not given too much thought to the newly-released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, I suggest you pop over to our review here and strongly consider giving it a go, as this installment has added a number of new features and overhauls to existing structures, almost all of which are for the better. This makes it the perfect time for anyone who has skipped the last few AC titles under the reasoning that they are all “essentially the same” to make a comeback, as the look and feel of the games has changed with enough significance to warrant a playthrough!
One of the most enjoyable parts of the AC Vahalla details is how they draw you into the world and really align you with the characters. The storytellers really went to the next level with this one. Here is our list of the Top 3 AC Valhalla details that really complete the entire immersive experience:
- Incredible Voice Acting. It goes without saying that the Old Norse language is not the easiest to learn or speak, but the very talented voice actors/actresses who worked on this game did a phenomenal job with pronunciation and making the language feel natural. Most of the characters you interact with have unique voices as well, which helps prevent you from feeling like you are only ever talking to generic NPCs but rather actual personalities.
- Cultural Deep-Dive. I should expect nothing less from Ubisoft’s flagship franchise, but I am still amazed how well their developers can splice real-life lore and mythology with a separate but parallel fabricated storyline. The sheer amount of references to Norse deities, customs and language were enough to have me lost on the web for a solid hour while I found myself exploring an ancient culture I knew very little about. In-game, it has the effect of bring your surroundings to life with a sense of authenticity.
- Incredible Environments & Backgrounds. Last but not least, it is the scenery details more than the facial expressions or hair strands, that can make or break a detail-oriented person’s immersive experience. And Valhalla knocks it out of the park. I found myself thoroughly entranced by the details of the game on the first missions, when I noticed that running through the heavy snow actually left a trail behind me in the shape of a trodded-through snowdrift. I have never been witness to that type of dynamic environment, and this is just one example of many to be found throughout your times adventuring through the AC Valhalla details and intricacies.
Valhalla’s snowdrift behaviour has me mesmerized!
