Witcher 3 Tips and Hints to Get You Started

There are so many reasons why Witcher 3 is still one of the most relevant titles in 2020. It has an extraordinary storyline and mind-boggling graphics that make it unique and interesting. Witcher 3 also has a lot of interesting side quests that keep players entangled with the game even when they are not completing the main objectives.

If you have just watched the Netflix series and it has tempted you to try the title, Witcher 3 is not one of those games that you will want to blitz in a few days. It is a role-playing game that you will be lost in and carve out your adventures. Any video game of this magnitude and relative complexity requires you to start on the right note.

This post is a little guide that will cover all the basics of being an effective Witcher. Remember, Witchers take their time to study their enemies before facing them.

That way, they are able to know the best way and what to use to get the job done. Just like that, reading this post to the end will equip you with some of the basics that you need to know before you start playing Witcher 3 especially if you want to become one of the best Witcher 3 players.

1. Quick Save your game before every fight

Witcher 3 is a pretty tough game, especially when you are trying to learn all the intricacies of the combat system. Always remember to click the F5 button as often as possible to avoid the game sending you 20 minutes back every time you die.

The game automatically saves your progress when you are busy fulfilling quests, but it does not automatically save your progress when you are just exploring the wilderness. The best thing to do is to hit the Save button (F5) every time when you feel like danger is around the next corner. It will only take you a second to hit the save button, but it is very useful.

2. Install the right mods

Witcher 3 mods can help refine the gaming experience. Many people know this, but they don’t know that not all mods are worth it. Some of them are useless, while there are those that are quality and worth installing. Before installing any mod, you have to look at its requirements. If you don’t have a great gaming PC, you should never forget to have an eye on the mods requirements before installing them.

That way, you will be avoiding wasting your time installing mods that can’t run on your PC. You also need to be careful with where you are sourcing Witcher 3 mods. You should only install mods from Nexus.

3. Learn when to roll, when to parry, and when to dodge

To win more quests and level up faster in Witcher 3, you need to know the difference between rolling and dodging. Of course, you know that rolling and dodging are two different actions but in Witcher 3, knowing when to use each of them is helpful. When you encounter a monster on your way, you have to choose between rolling and dodging.

Dodging is the best defense against heavy attacks, while rolling is the best option when you want to avoid a big charge attack. Rolling is the fastest way that you can use to distance yourself from the enemy. To succeed in your contracts, you should practice the two movements (rolling and dodging) when you are trying to learn the pattern of the enemy.

Parrying refers to using your sword to block damages. It is only good when you are fighting a human enemy. You will be stunned if you attempt to parry a heavy attack. Parrying can save your life often, but you need to know how to time it.

4. Repair your gear as often as needed

To succeed in your Witcher 3 contracts, you should equip your old monster hunter with the right tools for the job. As you travel from one point to the other, your weapons and armors will be getting damaged. That reduces their effectiveness.

Your weapons will start causing fewer damages than they should, while your armor will absorb fewer damages when you get hit by your enemies than it should. Luckily, repairing your gear in Witcher 3 is very easy. All that you need to do is to get the right type of repair kit. There are two types of repair kits; one is for your weapon while the other one is for armor.

You can find these kits in the world as drops, but it is worth buying some from the blacksmiths rather than staying empty. If you don’t have the right repair kit on hand, all you need is to go to the nearest blacksmith and pay them to repair all your damages.
