More Thoughts From Me #92: Happy Halloween!
Its Halloween again! I’m not sure if I mentioned this, I may have, but Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love candy, first of all, but I also love the spookiness of Halloween. I really like spooky movies, with vampires and werewolves and all that stuff. I do like some zombie stuff. I am a fan of The Walking Dead! Most of all, I just love this time of year. And I always find time to play some spooky game or another. Let me tell you about a few of my favorites and about one spooky game that I started playing recently!
Halloween is a great time to watch spooky movies, but its also a great time to play spooky games. Here are a few of my favorites:
Silent Hill (PS1): This game is so creepy. The fog, the wild things in the dark, the moody town, and the sense of doom around every corner. Silent Hill, the first one for Playstation 1, is still a game that you’d want to play on Halloween. Just keep the lights on!
Resident Evil: Pick a Resident Evil, any Resident Evil. I especially love the remake of the first game (for Gamecube) and Resident Evil 4. However, Resident Evil Revelations is pretty good too. Its on the Wii U and I have it. It will be on the Nintendo Switch next month, but of course, thats past Halloween. sigh. Oh well. There’s plenty of Resident Evils out there to play right now!
Pokemon: What a scary series. Whew.
Costume Quest 2 (Wii U): This game isn’t scary at all, but for a gamer that is much too old to actually trick ‘r treat anymore, this is a nice way to do that and have some rpg fun too. The first game is a blast too. I think of the second one first because I still have it on my Wii U. I should try to play it again this Halloween if I have the chance.
Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS): I really love Animal Crossing’s Halloween event. New Leaf is the only game on this list so far that I know I will absolutely be playing tonight. I can’t miss the animal’s tricks or giving candy to Jack!
And finally, I want to mention a spooky game I’ve been playing lately. The Nintendo Switch has been coming out with some Adventure games lately and I really love those types of games. The newest Adventure game I got for the Switch is…
Oxenfree (Switch): I am playing this game at exactly the right time I should be playing it. Oxenfree creeps me the heck out. Wow. This game is so spooky and you just never know what’ll happen next. The gameplay is pretty basic Adventure game: go here, get something, talk to a lot of people, etc. But this game’s story is so freaky. I have no idea whats going on but I want to find out. I think I want to find out. I’m not sure. But if you need a freaky game for your Switch for Halloween, then you should probably check out Oxenfree!
Thats my list of spooky Halloween games! What do you think? Do you like any of the games on this list? Is there a freaky/spooky game that you want to recommend to me? Please sound off with your favorite Halloween games in the comments!
Next week: Super Mario Odyssey! I have the game, I’ve been playing it a TON, and next week I’ll have my impressions of it. Just how much am I enjoying this game??? You’ll find out!
