The Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures LEGO Review
We have looked at a number of LEGO DreamZzz LEGO sets in the past few weeks, and yet another one arrived from our friends at The LEGO Group. This time around, we are looking at the Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures set, which is easily the best one we have looked at so far. You saw how positive our other LEGO DreamZzz sets were? This one is gong to be even better. But first, let’s talk about LEGO DreamZzz as a product and a theme.
LEGO is a huge hit in our home, but like every toy it comes and goes from the playroom floor. Sometimes that happens within a day, but often that will happen within a week. We have so many toys coming and going from the house that there is always something new. And there have been new toys since this arrived, but guess what – it’s still out on the floor, and not only that, the kids have used money to purchase additional Dreamzzz sets.
A lot of the other sets we have looked at were real world items recreated in the DreamZzz universe. The Turtle Van set, for example, was a food truck in the real world, and a Turtle Van in the DreamZzz world. The Crocodile Car was a regular race car in the real world, but a Crocodile Car in the DreamZzz world. This set is completely based in the DreamZzz world and I think this allows the design team to really be creative since they don’t have the same need to build a real world vehicle or item into a DreamZzz alternative.
And it shows. The design of this set is phenomenal. Like with the other DreamZzz sets, there are multiple build options here, and we put together them all. There is a bird option, a mech option, and a “wolf” option. I put wolf in quotations because as I’m not super familiar with the show, I’m not 100% sure what it’s suppose to be. All three of these builds are phenomenal, and while my kids ultimately settled on leaving the mech build together, I think the bird is the coolest of the three builds.
And while all three are great to put together, that isn’t the highlight of this set. The Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures set is chalked full of minifigures – it’s not often a set of this size has so many minifigures included, but this one does. At 59.99 CAD for just over 450 pieces, the price per piece isn’t as good as we would normally like to see. However, this set has – count them! – 5 minifigures. Generally, sets in the sub $75 dollar range are lucky to have 2 or 3 minifigures. I feel like having 5 included is pretty unheard of.
That’s what makes this such a great value. Now we are looking at 59.99 CAD for 450 pieces and 5 minifigures, and that is an exceptional deal for LEGO. Now, if you don’t care about the figures then it’s not a deal, but for my kids, this was easily their favourite LEGO DreamZzz sets currently available, and that they have been able to play. What further adds to the value of the set is the number of unique pieces included. Most notably here are some of the minifigure accessories – smoke “legs”, blue and grey puffy sweater – as well as some of the other pieces as well, including a really cool purple and red bird piece.
This is easily the best LEGO DreamZzz sets that we have looked at here on the website, and if we were to recommend one, it would be this one! Be sure to check it out, and let us know what you think of the set!
