Samsung Galaxy Book
Last month, I had the pleasure of checking out the Samsung Galaxy Book tablet computer, aimed at professionals, but with the power for all consumers in mind. Whether I was doing word processing, browsing the web, or even playing games, the Galaxy Book was the perfect companion on any trip, on the couch at home, or at my desk at work. The device is light enough to be useable in all situations, but has enough heft to it, giving you the assurance you are using a quality, well made product.
The Galaxy Book run windows 10 on a 12 inch or 10.6 inch screen, and comes with a detachable keyboard and a pen for precise movements. The speed of the device is remarkable, loading the operating software and applications very quickly. With these large, HD screen tablets, battery problems are always an issue, but somehow, Samsung has created a long use, fast charging battery that makes using the Galaxy Book constant. I never once lost power in the two weeks I used the device. Being aware of where your battery is at is always good, but even in tight situations, I was able to squeeze a few extra minutes until I could get to an outlet. Once at the outlet, the charge capabilities are lighting fast, getting you back on the go very quickly.
The book comes with a detachable keyboard and pen, and both perform admirably. Generally, detachable keyboards for tablets are not as responsive as their desktop counterparts, and that still stands true here. That being said, the keyboard is better than average, and although I missed my home computer mechanical keyboard and the satisfying presses I get from that, this keyboard was very useable. Transitioning from the larger, desktop keyboard to this was not an easy endeavour, but I was using the Galaxy Book keyboard like a pro within a few days.
The pen included with the device is phenomenal, and provided very precise moments on the screen during use. Although I didn’t use the pen a lot, when I did, I was extremely impressed. Doodling on the screen in various applications was great, and I even used the pen to make some on screen changes during a presentation I did for work. The meeting I was in quickly turned from work to the outstanding capabilities and features in the Galaxy Book. Samsung has really done a great job with this device!
More time with the device probably would have resulted in more surprises, but this was the gist of what I experienced. It was all phenomenal, putting the Galaxy Book on my list of must have devices this year. When we do eventually purchase a book or two for our offices, we will have more soon. For now, a solid 10/10 for us!
