Playmobil 1-2-3 Featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse

We’ve enjoyed reviewing a number of Playmobil sets over the past few years, and we hope to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. It’s such a great time opening up the boxes, getting the sets built, and  getting it all setup with our other sets. When Playmobil reached out with the chance to review the Playmobil 1-2-3 sets, some featuring our favourite Disney characters, I jumped at the chance.

Reviewing these sets is not about where my kids are at. My youngest is 5, and has almost graduated from these sets, but we have so many nieces and nephews in this younger age range who come to play, and having these sets has been amazing. We previously looked at a few sets featuring Winnie The Pooh (LINK ARTICLE) so now lets take a look at some sets featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

1.2.3 & Disney: Mickey’s & Minnie’s Cloud Home

“Mickey’s & Minnie’s Cloud Home is an explorative play set supporting the development of toddlers in various ways: The different combination possibilities stimulate creative thinking. For example, the rainbow can be used as a seesaw as well as a rattle, but it can also be combined with the rainbow building blocks to form a colourful archway. Lots of puzzle and plug-in features, like the raindrop staircase, develop both fine motor and cognitive skills. The cute Disney characters inspire first role play and creative stories.”

This set is phenomenal because it has so many intricate pieces that teach fine motor skills to younger kids. There is a lot going on with this set, although it might not look like it from the get-go. Almost everything comes apart and can be put together in different ways. The rainbow can be an actual rainbow arch to walk through, or can be swapped around and used as a see-saw.

I love how much there is here, and while it’s a bit more expensive than some other 1-2-3 Playmobil Sets, there is value in what you get. This set, all on it’s own, is going to provide hours upon hours of play for inquisitive kids. With a couple boats, Mickey and Minnie figures, and tons of blocks and pieces, there are so many opportunities for creativity and learning, which is what Playmobil aims to do with these 1-2-3 sets. In our previous 1-2-3 Winnie the Pooh review we said the Treehouse set was one of the best. This is easily on par with that.

1.2.3 & Disney: Mickey’s & Minnie’s Cloud Ride

“Mickey’s & Minnie’s Cloud Ride is a plug-in and combination game, that promotes fine motor and cognitive skills at the same time. The individual snap-lock elements and vehicles can be combined as the child wishes, to create a fun plane-cloud-train. The printed pods also encourage children to learn to count from 1 to 3. Or, with the help of their parents, they can also get to know how a rainbow develops, for example.”

Of all the sets we looked at from the 1-2-3 line of Playmobil toys, this might be one of the more disappointing ones. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a great set and we do recommend it, but it would be lower on our purchase list as opposed to other sets available. I love that there are two figures included in the box, which means two kids can have hours of enjoyment without the need to fight over figures or vehicles.

The set is also very vibrant, and it does help teach fine motor skills, creativity, and imagination. I just wish there was a bit more included in this box, and probably just a slightly higher price tag. I think there was probably a goal to keep the cost of this set down compared to the other Minnie and Mickey sets. You can get one on amazon under this link.
