Pixel Pals Continue to Roll Out with More Licenced Products

Just when you thought the people over at Performance Design Products would run out of ideas and licence deals for Pixel Pals, they slam you with more, increasing the variety of characters already available. This time around, it was a box full of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) figures, all in great detail, and all prime for the taking by my kids. Good thing I ordered high shelves for all these figures, because they would be long gone if my kids could reach them.

I mentioned in a previous Pixel Pals article that many people wrote off these collectibles as purely Nintendo fan fare, and as proven so far – and further proven by my latest PDP package – that could not be further from the truth. PDP continues to partner with great companies to bring their characters to the Pixel Pal lineup. To date, we can confirm that the company has partnered with:

  • Nintendo
  • Sony
  • Microsoft
  • TMNT
  • Bethesda
  • Street Fighter
  • DC
  • SEGA
  • and more!

Unlike the Funko Pop series, which seems to release a new figure once per day, PDP is spacing out the launch of the Pixel Pal lineups, and working to lump them together, meaning you can collect them all over a long period of time, or can focus on a specific license. While I personally am doing my best to collect them all, I know a ton of people just picking up specific figures to complete a collection. I have a friend looking to get all the Nintendo themed Pixel Pals, and another who is getting all the Street Fighter ones.

Whether in the box or out, the Pixel Pals make a great display item for any room, and in my situation, also double as a handy night light for my kids. We keep the boxes in great condition, and swap out the characters every few weeks so their ‘nightlights’ are never the same! Soon, PDP will be releasing the USB pass-through for the Pixel Pals so you can stop popping so many batteries into them. When that is out, we will be sure to give it a try and let you know how much better the Pixel Pals experience is!
