Pikmin 3 Deluxe Demo First Impressions
Nintendo released a demo for Pikmin 3 Deluxe this week. They also released a Pikmin 3/Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Treehouse Live. We have included the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Treehouse Live segment below, please check it out if you haven’t seen it and then come back here for my impressions of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe demo!
First of all, I want to say that I’ve never been a big fan of Pikmin. I enjoyed Hey Pikmin on the 3DS, but the normal Pikmin fans didn’t seem to care much for that one. I just could never get into regular Pikmin games much.
So I wasn’t sure if I wanted to download the Pikmin 3 Deluxe demo. But I did download it! I can never resist a Nintendo demo. They don’t release them often.
What did I think of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe demo?
Well, I haven’t finished it yet, the demo seems pretty long, but so far…I like it.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe seems like a pretty neat game. The graphics are pretty stunning. I’ve only played it in portable mode though, it probably looks even better on the TV. I like the environments and the characters. The Pikmin themselves are cute. Though we have no time for cuteness so lets move on!
The gameplay is a mix of strategy and simulation. I love strategy and simulation games. I wasn’t sure if I liked what Pikmin does or not but I’m starting to get the series a bit more.
I’m liking how Pikmin 3 mixes the strategy/sim genres: giving you a limited amount of time to collect Pikmin, food, and more. You have to find stuff, figure out how to get the stuff, and take it back to your ship. There are other things to do like defeat enemies and unlock new areas using Pikmin. And there are different types of Pikmin to find. I only have the red and rock ones so far. So neat.
Still. I’m not completely sure if I want the game or not. I need to play more of the demo. I think the demo is pretty neat, there are a lot of things I like, but it doesn’t feel like a game that I need yet…
I know in the actual game there multiple modes like bingo mode and Side Stories. It seems like the game will have a lot of content. Hmmm.
Its really nice that Nintendo released a demo for this game. For anyone on fence, you should go download the demo. Its free! And it seems like its not short either. So by the time you’re done with it, you should know if you want Pikmin 3 Deluxe or not. Back to the demo with me!
Pikmin 3 Deluxe will release on the Nintendo Switch on October 30th!
