I Found the Lego Daily Planet: A Geeky Look At Lego DC Super-Villains
I am a huge fan of the Lego video games. I won’t lie. That doesn’t mean I won’t be critical of these games when I find something wrong with them, but for the most part, I really enjoy these games. And Lego Marvel and the Lego DC games are Lego games that I’m especially fond of. Why? Because I’m a comic book fan too! Please, allow me to geek out on you. Warning: there are character and place spoilers for the game in this article!
When the story finally set me free in Gotham and I could play as any character I wanted to, I look down to the DLC characters and picked out Supergirl. She was the only flying character that I could find then. I took her to the skies and explored Gotham some. And then I looked at the map and saw Metropolis nearby. I had to go there.
I flew Supergirl to Metropolis and looked around. It didn’t take me long to find the Daily Planet. I didn’t even need to go inside of it. Just look at that picture of Supergirl flying next to the Planet! If you don’t find that cool, why are you even reading this article?!
I wasn’t just happy with finding the Daily Planet though. I had to see what else was in Metropolis. I just want to give away one more thing and then I’ll move onto another location. Booster Gold, the hero who loves fame more than saving people, is in Metropolis. Find him.
Ok, so after I was done with Metropolis, I wanted to see what was beyond Metropolis. There had to be another city or something right…right! Smallville is next to Metropolis. I won’t spoil that place. Its amazing.
Switching gears a bit, I looked through my character list and found John Constantine. While his powers are not the most impressive of any of the other characters on the list, come on, he’s John Freaking Constantine. In a Lego game! If you need him, get the Justice League Dark DLC pack. Get the DC TV Heroes and Villains pack to play as Supergirl early in the game.
However, there are a lot of cool characters in the game itself. Tons of Flash villains, Batman villains, Superman villains, and more. I just started the game on Wednesday so I haven’t unlocked most of the characters.
My favorite characters to use in the normal character list-so far-are Reverse Flash and Sinestro. The speed force looks awesome in this game and Sinestro’s yellow lantern powers look neat!
DC fans will not be bored with this game. Lego DC Super-Villains delivers head-spinning references to tons of popular DC locations and characters. There are some locations that I wish I could talk about. I just don’t want to spoil too much for you all.
I do want to leave you with one final tidbit though: the Hall of Justice and the Legion of Doom Hall. Yes, they are in this game.
Ok, I’m done. For now. I have to go back and play this game more. Next week, my review-in-progress begins!
