Falling Out
Falling Out is a action/adventure game where you have to either take turns controlling two characters or play co-op. Is this a fun game? How does it play in single player? Did we get to check out co-op? Check out our review of Falling Out for the Xbox Series S!
Falling Out is a game where you play as a couple who go to Egypt, start exploring tombs, and end up being tasked with saving the world. You play as both the man and the women. If you’re playing single player, you’ll have to switch between the characters. The game can also be played in co-op or vs modes, but we didn’t get to try that out.
The single player is a bit cumbersome because whoever you’re playing doesn’t automatically follow you. You must switch back to the other character or pick up the other character to carry them forward. This game would’ve worked so much better if the secondary character had an A.I. but they do not.
In the tombs, you’ll find different enemies that either need to be avoided or stomped on Mario style. The goal of each level is to get to the exit, sometimes there is an extra goal like grabbing a key or another object. Throwing a character over a ledge is neat but a bit hard. Sending a rope down for the other character is pretty cool. You’ll also find shops between levels where you can buy items to help you on your quest or go below the shop and craft things you’ll need. The shop and the crafting does add a bit more to what is otherwise a pretty simplistic game.
Falling Out does have a humor and certain charm to it, but the cumbersome style of gameplay for single player means that its more suited for a co-op experience. The retro style graphics for the game are pretty good though.
Falling Out has a very nice cartoony retro style graphics. The game looks like it could’ve been on the SNES. Perhaps a little more detailed, but not much more. We really like the graphics on this game though.
Overall, we wouldn’t recommend Falling Out as a single player game. If you have a friend to play with, then Falling Out could be a neat game. Otherwise, its not horrible but it does take a lot of patience to get through each level. Falling Out is a good game that’ll be much better with friends.
Falling Out gets a 7.0 out of 10.
