Colorful Rainbow Billy Already Shines
Last night, I received a review code for Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan for the Nintendo Switch. I’m still very early on in the game, but I had talk about it! This game already has me hooked.
Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan feels like a Nickelodeon cartoon mixed with Paper Mario: Color Splash and the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. It an action, adventure rpg where you are tasked with restoring color to the world while platforming and sailing across the sea. Most of all though: its a beautiful game!
That is absolutely the first thing that I noticed about Rainbow Billy: its graphics. This is an amazing looking game. Rainbow Billy looks like a cartoon you’d see on Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel. It is bright, colorful, and charming. The cutscenes, especially, will wow you, but the regular graphics are really good too.
The game isn’t just good looking though. The gameplay is fun. There are plenty of objects to get, platforms to scale, and a bit of challenge too when it comes to Confrontations.
In Rainbow Billy, you don’t battle enemies. Instead, you talk to potential allies. These are confused characters that need a bit of understanding. You’ll have to say the right thing to thing and also play little mini-games to help things along.
These Confrontations start off easy but they get harder as you go. You may have to replay some Confrontations before getting the new ally. Don’t worry, there is no dying in Rainbow Billy.
Rainbow Billy isn’t a very hard game so far. The Confrontations add challenge but like I said, there is no dying. This game seems like it would be the perfect game for adults to play with their younger children. But it also seems like a game that anyone who is young at heart can appreciate and have fun with.
I know I’m having a blast with it. I love the graphics and the world is really wonderful to explore. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is around the next corner in Rainbow Billy for the Nintendo Switch.
