Shovel Knight Will Appear in Yooka-Laylee

A lot of people have been excited about Yooka-Laylee ever since it was announced (myself included). Yooka-Laylee is coming from a new company called Playtonic Games, which is made up of former RARE employees. Rare was the company that put together games like Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Donkey Kong 64, and more. Now these former Rare employees are putting together Yooka-Laylee, a 3D platformer in the same vain as the ones Rare did for the Nintendo 64. The game looks great so far too! And over the weekend, we got a major surprise for the game: Shovel Knight will be appearing in Yooka-Laylee!!

Yooka-Laylee will be headed to the Wii U and other systems next year. With each bit of footage released, the game is looking better and better. Over the weekend, we got the best footage of the game yet! The footage below shows many of the characters that will be appearing in the game…including Shovel Knight!

All of the characters in Yooka-Laylee look so creative and fun. It looks like Yooka-Laylee will be a great game. And the addition of Shovel Knight is a welcome treat. I enjoyed Shovel Knight a lot and I’m glad to see the character popping up in other Indie games. I also really like the humor presented in the trailer. Wandering into the wrong game can be a real problem!
