Romancing Saga 2 Demo Impressions
A demo of Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven was released this week. I played it on the Nintendo Switch, finished it, and now have impressions of it. What do I think of Romancing Saga 2 so far?
I checked out the demo of Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven recently. What did I think of it?
Romancing Saga 2 is a turn-based rpg where you play as a king who is trying to protect his kingdom along with his son and their knights. The story is pretty good and takes some surprising twists and turns that I won’t spoil.
As for the gameplay, the turn-based battle system is classic Square Enix with cool attacks and spells. The battles go really fast and the difficulty, at least in the demo, is fairly easy; I was playing on Casual. Meanwhile, out of battle, you explore linear dungeons/towns with limited exploration, though there are some neat side areas to find items such as under a bridge. There is no world map to wonder though instead you have a world map where you select the next area you want to go. Its not bad but as a traditionalist jrpg fan, I wish there was a world map to wander. Oh well. Most of the demo is really cool and the graphics are nice too.
Romancing Saga 2’s graphics has really nice graphics. The characters are all tall and remind me a bit of Dragon Quest 11’s characters. The enemies look neat too. All the environments are nice to explore too. The battle graphics look especially great.
Overall, Romancing Saga 2’s demo is fun and it looks like Square Enix will have another jrpg worth checking out.
Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven will release on October 24th, 2024.
