LEGO Ninjago Movie Game Launches Today
Today is a good day if you are a fan of Ninjago or LEGO in general as both the LEGO Ninjago Movie and the LEGO Ninjago Movie Game launch for the masses. First things first, based on one of our other writers who had the pleasure of sneaking a screening of the movie ahead of launch, it is a fantastically fun experience throughout, definitely worth your time, young or old. But the real excitement for the majority of us at the website is the launch of the game, available today on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Here is a bit from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment PR:
Ninja, go! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group today announced that The LEGO® NINJAGO® Movie Video Game is now available in the Americas for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and Steam. Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TheLEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game allows players to extend the non-stop action and humourof the new big-screen animated adventure The LEGO NINJAGO Movie, in theaters nationwide beginning today. Players can battle their way through waves of enemies with honour and skill as their favourite NINJAGO heroes – Lloyd, Nya, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane and Master Wu – to defend NINJAGO Island from Lord Garmadon and his Shark Army.
I can tell you right now that my seven year old is over the moon about this game. He’s been a Ninjago fan for years, ever since the show began airing on TV. Having this franchise in their own video game is huge for him. Not many people will say this was their most anticipated game of 2017. He will. LEGO has had a strong commitment to the Ninjago franchise, a commitment that has not extended to their numerous other franchises like NEXO Knights, or even LEGO Chimea. I think LEGO knew they had something special with LEGO Ninjago, and I’m glad they stuck with it.
Here is more from the PR company,
The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game features eight large, action-packed, open locations based on the movie story, as well as iconic locations and characters from the LEGO NINJAGO TV series. From NINJAGO City, to the jungles of NINJAGO Island, each location includes a host of hidden secrets to collect, as well as its own unique Challenge Dojo where players can put their combat skills to the test, earning high scores and battling with increasingly tougher enemies. In addition, the game features Battle Maps that allow players to go up against their friends and family in three different game modes with competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players.
We are expecting a pretty deep game with lots to explore and uncover. I think we got a taste of the Ninjago world when playing through the various LEGO Dimensions packs that came from this franchise, but this game will take that experience to the whole next level.
