Everything You Need to Know About the Hello Neighbor Sequel
Hello, Neighbor was arguably one of the most fun and popular games of 2017. The intense suspense and thrill made everyone play with their breaths held. Though, completing the game was also a huge relief.
But the terrifying neighbor is back, and this time, he’s scarier than ever. We’re, of course, talking about the sequel to Hello Neighbor — Secret Neighbor. This game is a multiplayer Hello Neighbor spin-off by the same developer. The game will be launched later this year.
The Setup
The premise of the game this time around is that a group of children try to break into their suspicious Neighbor’s basement to rescue their missing friend. The twist: one of the kids is the Neighbor in disguise.
The game is set between the first and second chapters of the main game. The group of kids has to rescue their friend from a basement by finding a set of keys strewn around the house. As the kid, you have to collect keys, save your friends from the Neighbor, and cooperate while not completely trusting anyone. You win when at least one child has entered the basement.
If you get the chance to be the Neighbor, the entire house is your territory. You need to use it to separate, scare, and confuse intruders. You have a range of gadgets at your disposal to get an advantage over the kids’ team. You’ll try to gain trust among your foes and attack at the right moment. You’ll do all this while protecting your own basement and you win when you catch all the children or when the timer runs out.
Gameplay
There are six different classes of kids you can choose from. Each class has a unique ability that gives them a certain advantage.
- Leader – can buff the speeds of nearby players. This is useful while under attack.
- Brave – when caught, can escape the Neighbor’s grip and stun him in the process.
- Inventor – can craft useful items like flashlights and a toy gun during the round by collecting cogwheels.
- Scout – the house is scattered with nuts which the scout can fire using his slingshot to slow the Neighbor.
- Detective – has the photo that shows one of the key’s locations. Other players can’t see the picture, so he has to describe it.
- Bagger – has an additional inventory slot that can be used to store extra keys or throwable items.
Kids can roam around the house alone or in groups, though it is advised to not make yourself vulnerable by being alone. Kids also have things they can store in their inventory. While being attacked, kids can throw things at the Neighbor to stun him.
The Neighbor has many abilities too. For example, while in the spawn rooms, you can press a button that temporarily reveals the locations of the children. You can put a bear trap that temporarily stuns a kid who gets caught in it. If you’re in a block stance, and the kids hit you five times in a row, you go into a rage and become unstoppable.
Requirements
The game runs on Windows 10 and requires Intel Core i5-3330 3.0 GHz or AMD FX-8300 3.3 GHz at the least. You’ll need at least 6 GB RAM and 5 GB available space. The minimum graphics card specified is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or the Radeon R9 270.
