Rabbids Party of Legends (Google Stadia)

The Rabbids were never one of my favourite franchises. Ubisoft creates such great stuff, but I never felt that the Rabbids was one of them. My tune changed when I played Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and I’m glad – Rabbids Party of Legends is one grand time, regardless of whether you feel it is a noticeable knockoff of other popular franchises. If you are looking to have a good time with friends, this is the game to play. And it is available via the cloud too!

Although only originally released in China, this version is heading West likely because of the upcoming Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope release. Regardless, I think a lot of people will be happy it is. Most of the minigames included are full on competitive battles – there are King of the Hill style games where one person attempts to reign supreme by knocking everyone else off. There are also games like Simon Says, and more. There are times when the game. does require players to team up for competitions, which like in other games, is the most rewarding and frustrating experience. Ever have to be THAT GUY who plays with the kids who knows nothing? Ya, that stinks.

There is an adventure mode on offer here, and playing through it will net you currency you can use to unlock new characters and new minigames for the best mode, Party Mode! The premise of doing this feels good, and seems to make sense, but unlocking everything for Party Mode will take hours upon hours, making you wish after a while that everything was just included from the start.

Playing on Google Stadia was a fairly smooth experience. A few hiccups here and there were not enough to ruin the experience, although untimely drops can impact the outcomes of minigames, so if you are taking these things really seriously, perhaps pick a different platform!
