Harry Potter Coming back in LEGO Form

Harry Potter has never really faded away, but it has been a while since LEGO released dedicated sets to the franchise, outside of the sets released for LEGO Dimensions. That is all about to change with the launch of the LEGO Minifigures Harry Potter set, and a brand new, 6000+ piece Hogwarts Castle, featuring micro minifigures, rather than regular minifigures – of which there are a few as well. Let’s dive in and take a look!

LEGO Minifigures – Harry Potter Set

The minifigures are spanning both the Harry Potter franchise and the Fantastic Beasts franchise, allowing fans of both franchises to collect the figures they want. 16 of these figures will be from the base Harry Potter set, while the other 6 will be from Fantastic Beasts. Our figures will be arriving soon coutesy of the LEGO Group, and we will revisit this article then and update!

LEGO 71043 – Hogwarts Castle

When LEGO released their last iteration of Hogwarts Castle I was excited but ultimately a bit disappointed, and that wasn’t on the LEGO Group, but more on me and my expectations. And simply put, my expectations were something I never thought LEGO could meet without doing something to compensate to keep the cost low. After the launch of the Mellenium Falcon set last year, these mega sets are more of a reality than ever.

The detail in Hogwarts Castle is outstanding, and I cannot wait to get my hands on this set, both to enjoy the building process and to enjoy watching my kids play with it. The set uses both regular minifigures to represent that adult teachers, and micro minifigures to represent the students present at Hogwarts. And based on the picture from the Great Hall, most of the series’ most prominent characters have been recreated for this set.
