GTracing Gaming Chair First Impressions
If you’re like me, you’ve probably been spending a lot of time at home lately. This means a lot more gaming. The extra amount of time that I was playing meant I needed better game equipment, especially my chair. The office chair or couch just didn’t cut it for my game binges. My neck and back would feel stiff or strained after using these for too long. So, I turned to Amazon and tried to find a chair that would be comfortable enough for playing games for hours on end.
In the end, I decided on the GTRacing Gaming chair. After 1 month, here are my initial thoughts on one of the most popular budget gaming chairs available.
Is This Chair As Comfortable As It Looks?
At first glance, I wasn’t sure about the padding of the chair. It didn’t look to be all that thick. However, after using it, I can say that even though it appears thin, it is moderately comfortable. I’m used to more padding, so I do wish there was extra. But it works well for my longer gaming sessions.
GTracing Features
Armrest, headrest, neck pillow
The neck pillow is the big winner out of all of these features. You can adjust it and get it to actually fit properly under your neck. That isn’t always the case with chairs that have neck pillows. The armrest and headrest are fine and help you keep the best positions possible when you play games for a considerable time. There is also a terrific cushion for your back (also adjustable) that helps with any pressure or strain in that area.
Seat:
The seat is comfortable for sitting, that part is not in doubt. But my concern is that it may not be wide enough for a person with any size. The seat is about 15” wide, which is ok for people under 200 pounds. As someone who hovers just above that mark, it can make it a challenge to open my legs if I want to give my thighs a break.
According to Ergonomic Trends, the ideal user for the chair is someone below 6’1” and 230 lbs or less.
Swivel:
It is effortless to spin this chair around and around. It comes with a 360-degree swivel that sometimes I use to turn myself around for fun. The spin is a very fluid motion as well.
Tilt:
This is where this chair shows why it is worth the money you pay for it. The backrest reclines down to a 170-degree angle; I honestly feel like it goes down further. It is almost completely horizontal. This is an amazing feature! You could practically take a nap in it.
Height of chair:
The chair moves up and down with ease. I’m only 5’7″, so it was ok for me without boosting it very much. My roommate is 6’5,” and found it a little too short even at the highest setting. For a long stint in this chair, it may not work well for him. This chair seems better suited for people who are under 6’0″.
Ease of Assembly
I’m not a fan of putting together furniture. But if I wanted this chair, I was going to have to do the hard work of assembling it. I have to say that the chair was neither easy nor difficult. I was able to put it together in under an hour, but some assembly sections challenged me more than others. That could also be user error, so take this with a grain of salt. The package was less than 50 pounds, so that’s a plus.
Overall summary of the GTracing Gaming Chair
There are other gaming chairs on the market, but the GTracing Gaming chair does the job. It offers you comfort at an affordable price. For individuals who want to use this for gaming (or even a WFH office), this is a good bang for your buck. The designers who created this chair tried hard to make this ergonomically sound. The only drawback to this chair is that it doesn’t seem well suited for people of larger size. You have to be average height and weight to fit comfortably into it. Other than that, this chair offers quality at a fair price.
