Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club Announced
Back in 2021 when we reviewed the Famicom Detective Club remake for Nintendo Switch, we didn’t think we’d ever see a brand-new sequel to it. These were remakes of NES games that never came to the U.S before. Well guess what?! Nintendo just announced Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club today!
Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club will be out in digital and physical form on August 29th. It is a sequel to the original two Famicom Club Detective games. This is 30 years later! This new sequel is about an “urban myth” about a smiling man who kills crying girls and leaves a paper bag on their head. The Detective Club investigates the myth to get to the truth.
When Emio was teased recently…I don’t think any of us thought it was a Famicom Club Detective game! Wow. Nintendo definitely knows how to surprise its fans.
We reviewed the remakes of the first two in 2021 and liked them. They were good adventure games. Its pretty exciting to see Nintendo put together a brand-new game in the series. If this game can happen, then maybe other games that never got a sequel or translated sequel could happen! I dare not even mention the game I’m thinking about right now.
If you like adventure games, you should definitely check out the Famicom Detective Club games and this new one.
Are you excited for the new one?
