Connectivity between Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War

Although many people probably never thought connectivity between Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War was ever going to happen, we definitely all wanted it to happen, and today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that this would be an option for those playing the sequel title on the same system as the original, utilizing  new feature called the Nemesis Forge.

For those unfamiliar, the Nemesis System in Shadow of Mordor allowed players to create unique and personal stories of revenge. Every enemy – or potential ally – within the game remembers you, the things you’ve done, and even the times they have conquered – or been defeated by – you. When Shadow of Mordor launched, this type of game play was unheard of, and the developer received major accolades for the system they created and implemented. By downloading the Nemesis Forge in Shadow of Mordor, players will be able to bring two of these personal stories over to the Shadow of War when it launches this October.

This will both affect those who fight alongside you, and those looking to ultimately kill you. Your most loyal follower from Shadow of Mordor will remain a loyal follower in Shadow of War, helping protect you from the evil that surrounds you, while attempting to take down the core of Sauron’s army. Your most hated nemesis, however, will retain their memories of those wrongs from one game to the next, launching you into an experience with stories that have already begun!

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be available for Xbox One, Xbox One X, Windows 10 PC (Windows Store and Steam), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro beginning October 10, 2017.
