Checking Out the Jaw-Dropping Born of Bread Demo
Among the many demos released today was one I was extremely excited for: Born of Bread. And the demo did not disappoint! Let’s talk about it.
Born of Bread is a turn-based rpg where you play as Loaf, a boy made of out bread. We see his origin story in the demo and then he gets thrown out of the castle with his papa. The story so far is pretty funny and I can’t wait to see more of it.
Not only that, but the game’s graphics also are jaw dropping! The characters are all 2D and flat like Paper Mario and the backgrounds are really three dimensional. Both of them look perfect together. I was blown away.
And then there’s the battle system. At first, it seems like Paper Mario too but the attacks are all context sensitive. Basically, every time you attack you’ll have to hit a button or move an analog stick right to attack. I admit I was a little frustrated by this at first because my attacks were not landing on the enemy at all. Once I got the hang of it though, I was smiling big time. The context sensitive nature is tricky but fun once you get use to it.
Overall, the Born of Bread demo is extremely impressive. I hope to play this one on the Switch but I thought it looked absolutely wonderful on the Xbox Series. Can’t wait to play more of this game!
