Animal Crossing New Horizons Update: Swimming and Diving First Impressions

Last night, Animal Crossing New Horizons received its newest update! Swimming and diving have been added to the game. I got to try them both out! What do I think of this update so far? Here are my first impressions of swimming and diving in Animal Crossing New Horizons!

The big swimming and diving update was supposed to be today, July 3rd, but thanks to time zone differences, some of us got it early!

Last night, I heard that the new Animal Crossing New Horizons update was available. I updated my game. Then I went into it. I got a snorkel from Nintendo and put it on right away. Yes! I looked good!

Next I ran to Nook’s Cranny and bought a swimsuit. I put it on. I took off my shoes and my hat. Now I was ready to swim!

I raced to my nearest rock and jumped off it. Down I went into the water and I was never seen again…

Okay, no, I quickly came up out of water. I was fine. I started to swim around. Oh my gosh. The swimming was so good. Yes, yes, a lot like it was in the 3DS. I don’t know. I still like it better on New Horizons. Of course, there was the diving too!

I tried that out as soon as I saw bubbles coming from the water. There’s something there…

Yep! That is my first undersea catch!

I went on to capture more and more. Sure, there were a lot of repeats too. I didn’t get all of the diving creatures last night.

Oh! I did see Pascal though. I got a Scallop and as soon as I did he popped up.

I refused to give him the Scallop and he went away…

Not! I gave him the Scallop of course.

He gave me a recipe for a Mermaid bed. Then he dropped TRUTH on me. BOOM.

After that he swam away.

I continued on my journey. I swam, I dived, and I also made wishes on stars. Yes along with swimming and diving, I also had wishing stars and Celeste last night. Wow. What an awesome night.

Only thing missing was Pirate Gulliver. sigh. Well, can’t have everything in the same night right?
