The Most Esteemed Prize in CS:GO – Getting Your Service Medal
Often, players don’t get awarded enough for their efforts in the games that they play. Playing normal games and racking up hours and even days on the game don’t even result in any prizes for their extensive time on the game.
In this game, everything changes. CS:GO High Tier Accounts are riddled with prizes that the game has provided its high tier players as compensation for their dedication to the game. Often, you’ll see such high tier accounts have several if not all service medals. In addition to this, those service medals are often leveled up and are a mark of a very experienced player in the game.
For starting players, the Service Medal is a prize that they can obtain and level-up, just like these high-level accounts. It becomes the motivation for players to achieve them by hustling on the game and doing their best in every match in which they play. So how does one truly claim and level-up their Service Medals?
Acquiring the Service Medal
Getting the Service Medal is a hard feat on its own. Essentially, the player will have to rank up their private ranks from Rank 1 to Rank 40 to be awarded the Service Medal upon resetting their rank back to Rank 1. Doing so is a tedious process as it will require the player to receive 5000 experience points per rank to move on to the next. The amount of experience points they receive per match is highly variable, depending on the type of game they played and depending on their performance throughout the match.
Therefore, the speed at which a player will be able to pass through these different ranks will greatly unless the player is ultimately amazing at the game and is better than almost all the players they match up against. The quickest way to get the service medal is, of course, to play great matches and do so at a frequent and consistent manner. Upon reaching Rank 40, the medal is awarded.
Level It Up!
Leveling up the Service Medal means that the player is choosing to go through the process of acquiring the Service Medal again. After receiving their first and resetting their rank, they once again can progress from Rank 1 to 40. Upon reaching the highest rank, they can, once again, reset their private rank, resulting in a level up in the Service Medal for the year.
Every year, a new Service Medal is released by Valve and therefore, players have the opportunity to grind for those Service Medals throughout the year. Players will also only have until the end of the year to level up their Service Medal, provided that if they reset their rank at the start of a new year, they will receive a different new Service Medal for that year.
With this in mind, one can see how much effort must truly be put into leveling up their Service Medals for prestige and glory. So, start grinding and show of your leveled-up Service Medal at the end of the year!
