Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game and Three Exclusive Xbox Wireless Controllers
I grew up on Space Jam, and have brought my own kids up on it as well. It’s a fantastic fun, engaging movie that really pushes the concept of never quitting, and always giving your best. While I’ve been skeptical of the second iteration of the franchise starring Lebron James, this new game from Warner Bros., coming to Xbox Game Pass, has got me all kinds of excited!
Xbox and Warner Bros. crowd sourced ideas for a brand new Space Jam game, and ultimately chose two meld together two different ideas to create this final product. From the Xbox Wire:
We were flooded with entries from around the world, and many of them were really great. It was a tough decision. To create the final game, we blended the ideas of two gamers: our youth-competition winner, Narayan from India, and our adult-competition winner, Ricky from the United States. Xbox and Warner Bros. were energized by Ricky’s idea of a classic “beat ’em up” blended with game mechanics that Narayan had suggested. The game is inspired by the upcoming live action/animated feature film with deep reverence for the lively characters in Space Jam: A New Legacy and appreciation of the Tune Squad’s pop culture influence, all while reminiscent of classic arcade games of the 1990s.
The game will be availble on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks. Here is a bit more:
The game is launching globally on July 1 exclusively into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks for a limited time. And if you’re not yet familiar with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks, it is a free benefit program that makes in-game add-ons, consumables, partner offers and more available to Ultimate members. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can redeem the game by visiting the Perks gallery on Xbox consoles within the Xbox Game Pass tab, in the Xbox App for Windows 10 PC, or within the Xbox Game Pass mobile app on iOS and Android devices. On July 15, the game will be available free-to-play for all fans through the Microsoft Store on Xbox.
Not only is Xbox and Warner Bros. releasing this title, but they are launching three exclusive controllers to boot. We’ve dropped images of them above, and they will be available on the Microsoft Store, and on Amazon US. What do you think of all this news?
