Nintendo Shows Off Indie Games On E3’s Youtube Channel
Today, Nintendo’s Damon Baker was on E3’s Youtube Channel and showed off some Indie games coming to the Wii U and 3DS. We have the details now!
On E3’s Youtube channel, Nintendo’s Damon Baker and several indie developers showed off some games coming to the Wii U and 3DS. Here are my thoughts on each game and trailers for the games:
Jotun: Valhalla Edition
Jotun: Valhalla Edition was the first game that they showed off during the short Nintendo E3 segment. The game is based on Norse mythology. The areas in the game are vast and beautiful looking. The gameplay looks like a lot of fun too! Jotun should be a game to keep an eye on. It will be coming to the Wii U this summer!
Runbow
We already have Runbow on the Wii U. What would you say if I told you it was coming to the New 3DS too!? Yes, this was announced today. I have a New 3DS and I’m very excited about this. The footage shown for the New 3DS verison looked great. The game will be called Runbow Pocket. Not only will it be coming for download, but it’ll be coming for retail too. And the Wii U will be getting a retail version. The last announcement about Runbow is that Shantae will be coming as free character dlc to the game!! I’m a big fan of the Shantae games and thought this was awesome news. The whole segment with Runbow was unexpected and amazing. Can’t wait to see it all!
Axiom Verge
I’ve seen footage of Axiom Verge before but I wasn’t really impressed by it. This time, I thought the footage looked a lot better. I also like that it’ll have a map on the gamepad at all times. It was always a small annoyance to have to go back and forth between a menu while exploring in Metroid. Axiom Verge looks like it’ll be really fun. The game should be out this summer!
Severed
The final announcement from Nintendo/Indies during the E3 youtube segment was a game called Severed. This is a new game from DrinkBox, the developer who gave us Guacamelee for the Wii U. The game’s graphics look similar to Guacamelee, but the gameplay looks more like a first person dungeon crawler. I liked the look of the game a lot! Its coming to the Wii U and 3DS and it’ll have cross-buy. Severed will appear on both systems this summer!
And thats all of the games they showed. It was a very short segment for Nintendo today, but very nice and full of surprises. I enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully we’ll see some surprises from Nintendo’s Treehouse. Treehouse Live starts tomorrow at 11am central and will be on for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday).
That’s all for now. We’ll be sure to bring you all of the important Nintendo and Indie news here at Gamesreviews.com!
