More Thoughts From Me Special Edition: Coming to Xbox in 2025

I just finished watching the Xbox Showcase. I didn’t stick around for Call of Duty because that series is not for me, but I watched the rest. What did I think about it? I’ll tell you in 2025. Kidding. I’ll tell you now!

As I watched Xbox’s big showcase, one thing stuck in my mind: most of the games are coming in 2025. Indiana Jones, Avowed and a couple of other things are coming in 2024 but a lot of the other cool games: South of Midnight, Fable, Atomfall, and others are coming in 2025. And Snake Eater and Gear of War didn’t even have a date! Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater was shown again, so happy about that, but it didn’t have a date either.

Honestly, I was hoping that Xbox would have more to announce for this year. 2024 has seemed like just an okay year so far. Xbox, Nintendo, and Sony haven’t had many games at all. It feels like the industry is in a bit of a transition period. Everyone is holding their breath and waiting to see what happens next.

Still Indiana Jones looked amazing. From the cool first person gameplay to the fantastic cutscenes, it felt like a cooler adventure than the recent Dial of Destiny movie!

Avowed looks like its going to be a fun Elder Scrolls like fantasy game.

And Fable?! Wow. I was blown away. Do we really have to wait till next year??

Same with South of Midnight which looked absolutely beautiful. I also thought Expedition 33 looked so cool. It was nice to see an rpg in the mist of so many action games.

If all of these promised games are coming out in 2025, then at least that year will be pretty awesome.

I can’t help but be a little disappointed though. I was hoping we’d get even more surprises than we did. I would have loved to have seen more from Square Enix (though the new Life is Strange looked great) and we didn’t see Capcom at all. The new Doom and Perfect Dark were nice surprises though.

Overall, I’d say this showcase was better than the Summer Game Fest, but still wasn’t exactly what I wanted.

Will Nintendo’s upcoming Direct be even better?? Hmmm.
