More Thoughts From Me #275: Addicted to Immortals Fenyx Rising

For awhile now, I’ve wanted to play Immortals Fenyx Rising on the Nintendo Switch. I liked the demo a lot. But I hesitated on the game. I knew the price would lower for it eventually. And finally, I saw the game on sale for its lowest price ever and I was able to get it. I’ve played the game a lot since I got it on Saturday. I’m addicted to it!

Seriously. I just don’t want to stop playing this game. I wish I was playing the game right now. I’d rather be playing Immortals Fenyx Rising than writing this column. In fact…

Okay. Okay. I’ll finish the column and then go play.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is such a good game.

Let me put it this way: Immortals has everything I liked about Breath of the Wild-climbing, exploring a big open world, messing around in the environment, and fighting enemies.

And it gets rid of everything that was annoying: breaking weapons and super fast depleting stamina. Even from the start, you can keep climbing longer than you could in Breath of the Wild. You get to climb mountains and gigantic statues based on Greek gods!

The Vaults are actually more interesting than Breath of the Wild’s Shrines. There is more to the Vaults overall. And they are much more challenging than Zelda’s Shrines. Also very, very cool.

Plus it has a really good story, with lots of humor and tons of Greek mythology. Its actually a better story than Breath of the Wilds…

Wait, am I saying that Immortals Fenyx Rising is better than Breath of the Wild?

Well, I’m much too early in the game to be making a statement like that. But, man, wow, Breath of the Wild 2 needs to up its game!

I’m playing Immortals on the Switch too and the graphics really do give Breath of the Wild a run for their money. There are so many amazing sights to see. And the characters and enemies are very well done. The game looks great on the TV and very good in portable mode. Ubisoft did a excellent job with the game’s port to the Switch!

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an absolute treat. If you love Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, and other open world fantasy games, then you need to play Immortals. You’ll love it!
