Lightwood Games Will Introduce Some Logic Into Their Next Word Game

Lightwood Games, publisher of Word Puzzles by POWGI, has announced a new word game for the Wii U and 3DS called Word Logic by POWGI. Check out details below.

” Lightwood Games brings new word puzzle collection to Nintendo 3DS™ and Wii U™

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 7th June, 2016 Stoke-on-Trent, UK – Lightwood Games is excited to announce their next title on the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. “Word Logic by POWGI” will be released later this year.

This new POWGI puzzle compendium contains six different pen-and-paper style word puzzles, each of which requires some degree of logic or deduction to solve.

As usual, Lightwood has placed the focus firmly on the content with intuitive touch-screen controls and – on Nintendo 3DS – handwriting recognition. To ensure the game never gets in the way of the puzzle, both versions include a “lefty mode”, to avoid players blocking the screen with their stylus hand.

The puzzles included are:

• Kriss Kross – The classic word-fit puzzle. Place words into the grid using their length as a guide, and using logic to make sure everything overlaps correctly!

• Word Ladder – Make new words by changing one letter at a time. Can you turn one word into another in a limited number of steps?

• Crypto – A cipher puzzle (also known as a cryptogram) which reveals a quote when you crack the code!

• Word Sudoku – Place nine letters according to usual sudoku rules. As an extra clue, one row or column will spell a word.

• Gaps – Several words have one letter missing. Deduce the correct letter to fill in the gaps and spell a new word!

• Wordsweeper – Drawing inspiration from Minesweeper, the clues tell you which letters can be placed in an adjacent square. It’s a crossword-style puzzle solved using logic!

Word Games are Lightwood’s speciality and this is their third collaboration with POWGI for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Word Search by POWGI was released in April 2015, followed by Word Puzzles by POWGI in February 2016. POWGI – Puzzle On Word Games, Inc – is a puzzle content publisher based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Examples of the puzzle types included in this game can be found at www.powgi.com. Logic Puzzles by POWGI will be released on the Nintendo eShop priced $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. A free downloadable demo will also be available.  ”

On twitter, the developer said that Word Logic by POWGI should be coming in August! Another game, Worcle Worlds, was announced for October. There are no details on that game yet.

Word Logic sounds like Lightwood Games hardest game yet! I’m not sure how good I’ll be at it, but I’m looking forward to trying the game. My father is an even bigger fan of Lightwood Games then me (hard to imagine right? But its true) and I’m sure he’ll enjoy this game a lot. As I’ve mentioned in previous articles and reviews, Lightwood Games is really great at creating word games. I always look forward to what they create next and you should too! They have many games available on the 3DS and Wii U right now. And it looks like we’ll have many more coming from them soon (such as Dan McFox which is coming out on Thursday).
