How Will Jurassic World Evolution 2 Distinguish Itself?

E3’s Summer Game Fest is underway and Jeff Goldblum has just introduced the world premiere of Jurassic World Evolution 2. As lovers of city-builders and diehard fans of the Jurassic Park/World franchise, Evolution and Evolution 2 are dreams come true. The only thing better than watching these ancient, prehistoric creatures come to life on the big screen is bringing them to life yourself and watching your own Jurassic World grow.

As I watched the announcement just moments ago, my mind immediately began racing with ideas on what this sequel could contain. I landed on one major hope for the game itself – greater dino customization and gene splicing. While the movies have made it quite clear that this is dangerous territory, what could be better than being given even greater freedom to engineer the ultimate dinosaur (with the proper safety precautions, of course)?

Either way, it will be very exciting to dive right back into Jurassic World Evolution 2 and explore whatever new content has been added. Although, I must wonder, if it doesn’t dive further into dino customization, what changes will it involve? One of the issues with creating games around such an established franchise is that you are somewhat handcuffed in terms of creativity.

Fans would likely not be quick to accept an entirely new world or characters and storylines not previously established in the films. Perhaps new resources and building systems could be implemented, different species made available or greater atmospheric impact through natural events and environmental hazards?

I have no doubt that I will need to play Jurassic World Evolution 2, regardless of what updates and improvements in encompasses. Yes, I am that big of a Jurassic fanboy and yes, I really do love city-builders that much.
