Fishing Paradiso
Do you like fishing? Do you like rpgs? Do you like stories about life after death? If you answered yes to all three, then boy do we have a game for you! Check out our review of Fishing Paradiso for the Nintendo Switch!
In Fishing Paradiso, you find that you’ve just died! You are in heaven and you want to find a mysterious fish. Before you do that, you will have to fish, help people, and collect furniture for your new home. Fishing Paradiso is a fishing rpg where you upgrade your fishing skills and keep catching bigger and better fish. The game is focused on fishing, but there are some light sim elements, such as furniture collecting, and interaction with other characters. The story is interesting but the fishing is the most important aspect of the game. So is it any good?
The fishing is great! You can either use the touch screen or the analog controls to fish. Both ways work well but I personally preferred using the analog controls. That seemed easiest to me. The fishing is easy to learn but hard to master. Upgrading your fishing skills absolutely does influence how well you catch certain fish. Some fish are impossible to catch until you improve your skills. Fishing Paradiso can be challenging, but it feels very rewarding when you finally get the fish that you’ve been trying to collect.
Speaking of collecting, as mentioned before, you do collect furniture in the game. The house decorating is neat but unfortunately you can’t sit on or interact with any of the furniture. It’s a shame the sim element of the game isn’t more Animal Crossing-like. Overall, though, the game is really fun and it looks good too!
Fishing Paradiso isn’t a three-dimensional game like Animal Crossing but it does have a very cute, colorful 2D graphical style. The game’s animation, especially the fishing, are well done too.
If you love fishing and you are looking for a game with a unique story and setting, then Fishing Paradiso is the game for you.
Fishing Paradiso gets a 9.0 out of 10
