Crash Bandicoot Is Back on PS4
It has been a long time since we have seen Crash Bandicoot in a dedicated game, and while what we are getting on PS4 will just be remastered, it feels good none-the-less. Activision announced today that they were remastering a number of Crash titles, including Crash, Crash 2 and Crash Warped. They also announced the Crash Bandicoot will be available in the upcoming Skylanders Imaginers game, only on PS4.
What consumers are left to wonder now is how Sony plans to handle this. They have announced that it will be a remake from the ground up, but everyone interprets that differently. Will this simply be an HD port, or like Ratchet, will it be built to maximize the use of the Playstation 4. I really hope that these games get the attention they deserve and launch and all consideration is given to making these the best they can possibly be. The temptation is there to make a quick buck, but I do feel Activision will do this right!
Regardless, it is great to have a classic Activision franchise back on consoles, as it has been way to long. Forget all those Crash racing titles – this is what longtime Sony fans have wanted for years and years. Having it on a powerful system can only be a good thing. And who know, we might be seeing a new Crash game sometime next year if these perform well on the Playstation store.
