Animal Crossing: New Horizons Free Summer Update – Wave 1 (Trailer)

Nintendo has been providing Animal Crossing New Horizon players with new content via free updates! That won’t change anytime soon. Today they announced a Wave 1 and Wave 2 summer update. Check out the video below and then please come back here for some thoughts on next months update!

Animal Crossing New Horizons will get another free update on July 3rd. The update will bring with it swimming and diving. Pascal also returns and…Gulliver is a pirate? Here are my thoughts on the update:

I’m glad that we are finally getting swimming and diving back! Both were a big deal with they debuted in Animal Crossing New Leaf and I thought it was weird when they were not in New Horizons. Its set on an island for goodness sake!

Thankfully Nintendo is bringing back swimming and diving, along with sea creatures that you dive to get. It looks like just like New Leaf, you’ll have to put on a swimsuit to swim/dive. A character was shown with a snorkel too! It looked so cool.

Pascal returns and he once again wants scallops. This time he’ll give you recipes for the Mermaid furniture.

Also, Gulliver will wash up on shore as…a pirate? Nintendo didn’t go into detail about this part of the update. Maybe its how we get the pirate furniture? I guess we’ll see!

At the end of the video, we get a mention of Summer update Wave 2! It’ll be coming early August. Nintendo doesn’t say what its going to have but…there is a fireworks drawing around the announcement, so that would suggest that August fireworks will be making a return. The update will most likely include more than just that though.
